Rillford

The people behind the furniture.

A designer and a cabinetmaker, with the same room in mind.

Ruth Mercer and Owen Lyle started Rillford in 2020 after working on residential interiors through separate small firms. They wanted design decisions and making decisions to stay in the same conversation.

The first commissions were fitted cupboards and storage. Kitchen work grew from the same approach: understand the room, resolve the details, then stay involved through making and fitting.

Today, four of us work across design, the workshop and installation, with part-time studio coordination. Visits are by arrangement. The sample table is part of a working workshop, rather than a walk-in showroom.

A working workshop.

Drawings, samples and cabinets in progress share the same space. A visit gives you a chance to look closely at the materials and talk through the room.

Visits are by arrangement after the first project conversation. We do not have a walk-in showroom.

Bristol, Bath and the towns between.

We work across Bristol, Bath, Keynsham, Saltford, Bitton and the nearby villages. For a project further away, include the postcode so we can discuss what is practical.

Tell us about your room.

A kitchen, an awkward alcove or a place for everything else. Start with what you have and what you would like to change.
